Most torrent sites will have a scene release of Top 40 Albums etc to download.

    Again, use a VPN.

Didn't realise people still used the torrent sites, I thought people moved over to news groups but there was a charge to join. so as long as you have a vpn on its ok.

Massive thanks for the advice and the link, more links would be appreciated.

Reminds me of the good old days of winmx , audiogalaxy and kazaa.
And that noise that you got when you need to use the internet and the girlfriend would moan she wanted to use the phone line.

I'm using NZB's and newsgroups just because it's marginally safer than P2P/Torrents as you don't need to upload or share anything

most of the shared sites on DC++ don't need to be shared. a lot of the big ones are in Russia and have a few terabytes of shared stuff. from music to movies

its fast and you can probably get a full x2 cd of say now100 in a few mins

Fuck me I didn't even know dc++ still existed !

I don't use anything other than newsgroups these days for downloading. I stream video from certain select kodi suppliers but always through a secure VPN

I've had to go back to Torrents a few times recently because I couldn't get the download from newsgroups to complete before it was removed. Is that an issue for anyone else too?

Spotify is great value for me.

If you're only after the odd track, load said track in youtube then type pwn in the url after www. eg

Sorry about the auto embedding of youtube video, makes it difficult to see the difference!

Also, not actually tested by me, but Mik posted this on the shack a few months ago:

Must admit, I still use uTorrent for the odd things, via a VPN.

But music, I have a £15 per month Spotify family account. I sell three of the 5 spots to my friends for £5 each per month, which covers my cost. Myself and mrs BB then use the remaining two for free.
