    Default AMD CPU upgrade ?

I have always stayed clear of AMD and so know nothing about this type of architecture.
I have been asked to upgrade a AMD low level gaming PC & tbh, i could do with some advice. Im just looking to upgrade the CPU with onboard graphics as they dont want to spend much.
I suggested moving over to Intel & Nvidea but they only want something cheap to keep him going.

    The current spec is>
    CPU> Amd a8-7600 radon r7 > http://cpuboss.com/cpu/AMD-A8-7600

    M/B FM2+ Gigabyte > https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard...-HD2-rev-30#sp

What would be a cheap upgrade with a noticeable gaming performance.
NB> He isnt playing the latest shoot 'em up games, more of the old simulator type.

The only thing you could really do with the fm2+ chupset is go for the A10 7800(k) for onboard graphics.

If they have a dedicated GPU (which they should if they're actually playing games) I think the athlon x4 860k benches higher.

Convince them to spend more and get an fm3 board (can be found cheap nowadays for the fx series chips) or just go for Ryzen.

    Thanks to Ganty

The more i look into it, the crappier it becomes. It wont even play a 10yr old game ffs. They only bought it last year as a "low end gaming pc" from some scammer on ebay. (who has since closed his account)
Didn't ask any advice unfortunately & looks like they got ripped off.
IMO, i think its best now for them to just flog it & build something intel.

I have an AMD build myself, the processor is fine although showing it's age somewhat, your friends problem has more to do with the integrated graphics of the a series chip.

The best upgrade would probably be an SSD to be fair if he isn't willing to spend the dosh

i have allways had AMD, i am & have been for years a gamer,
you can pick up an 8 core fx8350 AM3+ now for around 85 quid new, AM3+ 970 chipset board for around 60, 16 GB DDR 3 for around 70 & gtx 1060 3gb version for around 180, job done
but get them to spend on a good psu 750 corsair or tagen
