Advice Blocked nose in baby, any ideas?

I have a 4 week old son. My wife (has a cold) took him to the doctors yesterday because he was breathing like Darth Vader. The doc said he's fine and not to worry about it, but his breathing has got louder and he sounds like his nose is really blocked up. My wife is taking him back to the docs today.

Anyone had any experience with this and got any advice for a new dad?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help us out here.

    Thanks to xdam

As gross as it sounds, many parents have sucked the snot out of there babies nose, very common in the phillipines ! you can buy suction pumps if you dont fancy that

He's already shit on my hands while wiping him and pissed on my legs a few times.

I'll have a look into the suction pump, thanks!

What Lestronics said... gross. I refused but the Mrs took one for the team.

Shortly after I saw this thing in I assume a pharmacy. Cant quite remember but it was a sort of syringe with an adapter to suck snot out. Not sure if they still exist as I can imagine the Health & Safety brigade jumping all over that kind of thing. Did the trick about 5 years ago ....

I know if they are super young you are not supposed to use menthol etc.

    Thanks to piggzy

Done this one myself so many times.
A nasal aspirator is going to be your best friend but worst nightmare lmao.

My lad is 17 months old now but when he was tiny he had a nasty cold and was struggling to breathe a few try’s with the aspirator and he was clear. The missus was almost sick though when the chamber was full of snot.
