Just to let you know I've renamed our old broadband section and moved your thread to it.
Thanks I see it now not been around for a while..
It didn’t exist until you made this post.

Have you tried setting your own VPN up with a raspberry pi?
unless I’m missing what you need it for, I’ve set up my own in the past and for that of mates who work on the rigs and they are great.
It enables them to use sites like betting sites and also Sky Go (before it became fine to use). But they als work great when using free Wi-fi for added protection.
lots of guides available, does require some patience and I’m willing to share experiences if necessary.
We all make mistakes sometimes

If it doesn’t have to be free then this site is excellent for comparing VPNs, this is the simple chart but there’s more in depth info too. I use private internet access:

I use Windscribe VPN, not free, but pretty cheap, it cost me £30 for a year and it seems pretty good, they have a Reddit where the users are very helpful if you run into any problems, only downside for me is it doesn't support port forwarding, so if you run Plex or similar you can't share your server, but they are about to release it as a new feature.

I use PIA for mine, but hear NORD has a really good deal on, c £45 for 3 years.

I've seen NORD advertised on the TV now too, was aware of it before but surprised they are advertising on "normal" tv. They were also recently in the news about a vulnerability but it looks like they patched it before it was publicly disclosed which is another positive:
