    Default Making Apps

    Hi Guys

Mods i'm sure this is in the wrong section but couldn't find anywhere else specific for it so if it needs moving then please feel free.

I know nothing about mobile Apps but have no money to have one made. I want to make one for work that my staff can have and I can send information and recieve updates from them on their training etc. I have seen a website called beezer which professes to make the process painless however it is a subscription service does anyone have any experience of beezer and is using a subscription service the only way that I can have an app that I can push messages etc on?

    Thanks to crazyadi

Looked into these subscription services myself and from research they all looked like shite.

I downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio (community edition is free and good enough)
There are a few plugins you need and tutorials on MS website.

If you have any programming experience at all you should pick it up fairly quickly.

You enable debugging in your phone and link it to an emulator so you can send the app to your mobile to test etc.

I am referring to Android here.

sadly I don't have any programming experience beyond zx81 back in the day, but my dog could do that!
I need it to work on iphone too as workforce is split between android/ios would that pose a problem if I managed to get started on it?

No you can do iOS in the setup above I just didnt go down that route.

I suggest setting aside 2 or 3 hours to follow the MS tutorials using the above software. If after that time you think you are out of your depth then at least you havent spent a penny so to speak.

I am by no means an APP developer, I mostly have done Web Apps and Windows Apps but feel free to post up any questions if you get stuck and if I can help I will. I need to setup my own environment again after a reinstall which I planned to do later in the week.

From your description above it doesnt sound like an overly complicated app so Its worth investing some time researching.

xdam Has a lot of web experience not sure if in Apps but might be worth an ask .

    Good luck

    Thanks to piggzy

Not to be a twat but have you already look on the app stores for something that performs the functions your after? I've just had a quick look on Android (simply searching for "management") and there seems to be a fair few that would fulfill your needs.
