Do we need a VR section?
I'm in 2 minds as it's an add on to PC or console gaming, then there's the Oculus Quest things that are consoles in their own right
Did I ever tell you you're my hero?

Probably best see how it goes, when the forum went down some members didn’t find the discord so now I imagine we have a lot of sections for a relatively small amount of members. Might be that some need condensing a bit so they remain active.

I’m looking forward to what the new PSVR might bring, not used mine in a while but it was pretty fun.

I'm almost blind in one eye so useless to me.
Thought my missus was taking the piss when she bought me a VR headset not long after it came out.
i think it's still in the loft (may have binned it by now) but no it was useless.

I think he’s referring to the ‘metaverse’ and the insane investment a lot of big tech is making into it. Looks like VR might be going mainstream, not used my PSVR in ages, think I need an adapter to connect it to my PS5.

Yes I’m aware as a concept it’s been around years but VR is changing and before long people will be sticking the headsets on and meeting friends on beaches for holidays as if was real life and not leaving their chairs.

Humans being made to rely on technology but is it a good thing, time will tell.

Sounds to me like an episode of tomorrows world.
but didn’t they also say we’d have flying cars by 2022 and robots that cater for our every need?

Yet we have kids who can’t even decide what gender they want to be and you can’t say boo without upsetting their mental health.

I can’t see this going anywhere but gaming and even then it’s not going to be huge like you think.

I dont think it will go mainstream until the headunits are more affordable, lightweight and standalone so they dont need other tech to work.
Sure more people may use it but unless there is something incredable to draw and keep them there they will get nored quickly.

Does anyone here use the metaverse or viveverse.. I've had a vive fro year and have never beem drawn to the latter...

I bought an Oculus quest 2 yesterday and it's not very cumbersome, it's stand alone. It wasn't new but it was hardly used. £220 with a good head mount and a smart carry case. I had a good mess about for two hours yesterday evening and am very happy. I guess from what I've seen the next generation will do away with Fresnel lenses and therefore be thinner.

I don't know mate. Other than a cheap phone based viewer the Oculus quest 2 is the first VR headset I've tried since a Virtuality one (massive arcade system) in the early nineties
