Default Downy JS & a parasitic wasp

Three and out! Sometimes you just cannot keep up with a downy jumping spider!

The last 3 are of a parasitic wasp is getting perilously close to the hole where my mason bees are nesting... I hope the search has ended at this hole!

I was in the garden with my lad when I spotted this.
I took a pic of it and almost touched it, but then thought wait can this little fecker bite me ?

    Absolutely not.

This is our most common jumping spider (Salticus scenicus) usually known as the Zebra spider. Cute little beastie

None of the jumping spiders use webs to capture their food - but they do sting a silk strand out behind them in case this mis-time a jump or landing. They literally pounce onto their prey.
