    Photos Chrysotoxum festivum

I'm sure this is the first time I have photographed Chrysotoxum festivum - some call it the the harlequin hoverfly. Got a bonus wasp in the first image.

    Paul.

No they don't sting, they just sort of mimic the look.

Im sure it was you who told me a few years ago if you hold your hand out they will land on you.
I tried it many times as our garden has loads of them but not had one land on me yet.

Some droneflys will but you need patience. It's the big hovering ones which will do sometimes, not these or the small skinny ones

Paul im after some advice if you could mate?
my daughters boyfriend is trying to sell some cannon gear and has asked if I can list a lens for him.

    it’s a sigma 70-200 mm f2.8 dg os hsm
it’s a newer lens which cost over £1300 but I’m not sure where to list it as eBay are cnuts.
It’s boxed as new and has very little use.
I would be grateful if you had any advice mate.

Not many places will give you the best price - classified ads in newspapers was once the way to go but nowadays Fleabay is the only medium.

You could try MPB Photographic to see what price they might give you.

£200 - £500 depending on condition - try Facebook marketplace, the issue is the dslr's are being dropped in favour of mirrorless by the major players, although there is some compatibility via lens mounts.
