    Whine Dedicated boxes

So I am still rocking a Pandora's box 6, and a little hand held thing call go boy or something.

Both are great for the little retro bursts I have.

Anyone else just tired of retro (everything, not gaming) and starting to think the moment has really now gone?

Don't hang me for being a witch!

I have never really gotten into the whole retro gaming thing.
Don't get me wrong i love having a blast on sonic or space invaders now and then, but i have two pi's i intended to use as retro units and just couldn't be bothered.

We have the retro nintendo games on the switch N64, megadrive and master system ones which never get played.

Most of the games are much better in your mind, than when you replay them.
I'm not a great gamer more of a hardware fixer, but do have a bash at some of the older stuff. It might be an age thing I get frustrated/bored much quicker now if I'm stuck on a game.
That said I've not been on the xbox for ages, just seem to be out of favor with gaming at present.
Lots of my repairs and pictures of retro stuff on my twitter.

Exactly this, I remember absolutely loving some games when they first came out but trying to play them now is hard work. Time is also an issue.

Time really is an issue nowadays but it's really satisfying to renovate or even completely restore an old machine. Recently bought an Atari 7800. They're a bit shit but backwards compatible with Atari VCS cartridges and mine came with paddles. Bought a composite mod kit for when I've got time to install it. Key word time.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...

Yeah all of the above is why i got the dedicated unit. Means I don't have to fuck about with an RPi, or PC confgis, look for compatible ROMS.

Just plug the thing in and have my blast and then put it away.

The handheld is superb for that.

I used to have a huge retro collection but I eventually sold it all and got myself a raspberry pi, then after a few years and upgraded it to a P4-4GB model, used a pre-done image that had everything setup so its just plug and play, and i still never really bother playing it.
As said above, the games are a lot better in your mind, i love all the old games I had on my Megadrive but you cant even compare them to something like Elden Ring, i think the most we have used the Raspberry Pi is on the last couple of Xmas eve and new years eve nights when we had some retro gaming time and watched Home Alone (good times!)

I used to repair arcade machines etc. and did some conversions (e.g. a sit down Sega-Rally I converted to an LCD screen running off a dedicated PC box to play the game, also allowed you to play things like Mario Kart through emulation etc.

I mainly focus on the Merit Megatouch Machines at the moment, the touchscreen ones you used to get in the Pubs back in the day.
Always go down well at parties and look great in the old mancave
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.
