Default Disaster has struck our household.

    It all began Friday morning.

I was getting ready to go out and my wife just got home from the school run.
Our 6m old granddaughter was having breakfast in her high chair when she got miserable and the wife decided to cheer her up.

She decided to be silly and started to dance and sure enough little one started laughing and was happy again…..
meanwhile I was having a shit in the bog when I heard what sounded like two blocks of wood being smacked together followed by a scream.

My daughter came running banging on the door as I’m wiping my arse saying mums broken something.

I decided to finish wiping rather than just leave with debris still attached.
After all the wife is a drama queen at the best of times.

Finishing the job at hand I then proceeded to clean my teeth and enter the kitchen wi5 a mouthful of foam to which I found the wife sat in tears and shaking.

she said some5ing snapped so I did the only thing I could and returned to finish brushing my teeth.
On return 3-4 mins later she was still in the same place and tried to stand and a piercing scream emitted from said wife.

Her calf was swollen and her foot too
I had a quick look but couldn’t see anything wrong but she couldn’t stand so I grabbed the phone and called the docs.
I was advised to take her to A&E where we would then spend the next 6 hours.

The journey to the car on the drive took 20mins.
After 2 hours and a lot of crying and screaming in agony in A&E the doctor then proceeded to inform us she has snapped her Achilles tendon.

    Wow now I feel bad.
I’m not going to lie I think I shouldn’t Have made a cup of coffee before I left.

She was given a leg cast and crutches and we have been told she needs to see a specialist in the week and might need surgery as it’s all bunched up.
She’s constantly high on oramorph and codine to stop the pain.
And faces 12 weeks on a cast and months of physio after it’s removed.

Now looking back that crack I heard was her tendon snapping and it makes me feel sick thinking about it.

It’s my birthday tomorrow and she feels shit she hasn’t got me anything but tbh I feel pretty bad.
so now she’s on bed rest unable to walk or weight bear for 12 weeks minimum.

Im on house duties school run duties and juggling kids work and household stuff is a nightmare.
Its day 4 and im knackered.

We usually share housework cooking, cleaning, washing school run etc but now it’s 100% me.

You might want to get her some laxatives as she will need them with those meds..

Thats probably retribution from someone above for you dragging your heels in getting her to hospital, so you got 12 weeks of her in bed giving you orders to look forward to

What a horrible thing to happen I can't imagine the sound.

Hope she recovers as fully as possible.

I knew someone who had the same injury she had her foot cast into a pointing position.

I did the same thing with my wife a few years ago, washing our old first Motorhome and the wife fell backwards off a set of step ladders and lander on her arse.

She hurt her arm and I said get up it’s only a sprain, well a few hours later she still wasn’t happy so me being me said come on I’ll take you to A&E you drama queen.

    Well, she broke her wrist.

I felt shit and still do, well a bit.
I’m alive and kicking yeh baby.

    Thanks to Realist

Fkin hell. Sign of the times...

Years ago posting like this would be more of the ilk, "So i was spinning my missus around on my cock, when I jumped up a bit too hard and shoved the black mamba up her arse and the nipple clamps fell off causing her to drop to the floor and go unconcious"

"Silly mare is in traction now... who is clearing up the mess I say."
