Default Smart Meter Crew - What we using?

My house must be a fucking mesh, as I'm paying through the nose for my heating I think!

    Had a smart meter installed a few months ago, 807kWh in October - £70 (£25 Gas / £44 Electric)

How much are you guys paying a month for Gas/Electric.

Trying to work out if my 3 bed Semi is on track or expensive.

Will have to check my bills, but it may not be a true comparison because different people have their heating on different settings. If I call with a mate of mine he has his heating much higher than mine and he's in shorts and t shirt all the time. My daughter also has the heating too high in my opinion, but she's a woman and they always feel cold in my experience. Also depends on age and construction of the property and the type of heating. My Annual electricity summary 4th sept 2017 to 3rd sept 2018 is 4,845 kWh. My annual gas summary for the same period is 10,648 kWh. Both up slightly on the previous year which isn't surprising after the extended cold spell we had earlier this year. I'm also in a 3 bed semi. Built in 2000. Mainly gas for heating but last winter I did add a small electric heater to the outbuildings to protect equipment from frost. (">

No idea, had a smart meter installed and same week had a 10 second power cut, went from a smart meter to a dumb meter as wouldn't connect again. Should really give them a call to resolve.

Enter your gas/electric supplier into uswitch with your readings, I do this every few months and save a few pounds a month

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I'm using £60 a month for both gas and electric and ive been paying this all year and now I am in credit for the winter to the tune of £137. I live in a 3 bed semi
Currently with bulb but will be looking to see if there any black Friday deals on another supplier as I am free to move whenever I want to

During the day (when I'm not here or anyone else is) the stat turns off the boiler and has the house at 18. then at 15:00 an half hour before the kids get home it set for 20. The temp In my house is at 20 and its very warm/comfortable as I had the house fully insulated/ triple layered in the loft and also the walls done.

Bloody hell mines around £160 a month combined, 4 bed. It will be inflated a bit due to the hot tub but that's on minimum most of the time

    That's a good leveler, thanks.

I'm estimated for this year to use 6,357 kWh, at a cost of £571 (£219 gas £351 electric). Obviously depending on how much heating is on, how cold this winter is etc.

Interesting to see that perhaps It's my electricity usage which is something to watch, rather than the gas!

About £70 for a two bed flat for gas and electric. Heating only ever put on manually.

I refuse to have one. I'll hold out until I'm forced to.

    Tariffs are higher.

Iím not having a meter either ... whatís the point , I change supplier almost yearly and they donít work when you change supplier ..... and they use electricity !!
my spend is about £100 a month on both on an extended 3 bed semi , think I base my calculations on 5000h kWh of leccy and 16000 gas .
It also depends on kids and wife ... kids donít know how to switch things off and wife can only turn thermostat up.
    Cheers

I pay about £10 per month im on a smart bypass. Special deal from black Monday a few years back. Seriously though im about £10 per week on each during winter months but that fals to almost zero for gas from april to september and probably £5 per week on the elec during those months. Silly meter as misses has read all sorts about them and likes a typically brithish protest...silent protest but still not doing what "they" tell her lol.
BTW I am a spark and could easily bypass the leccy lol but feck that .....too scared top answer the door to meter readers ect. Second point about the smart meters.....Again as an electrician I have been called to >10 in my local area where the meter monkey has left the incomming cables loose ......makes a lovely heater and the black smoke takes some getting used too - I have heard from gas engineers that they are comming across many small gas leaks due to incorrectly installed meters. The installers are very poorly trained and not qualified in either gas/electric so are leaving a trail of destruction behind them.......As is always the way "it's only a matter of time".

Refuse to have one. Telling you they can save you money is like telling you a speedo on your car can save you petrol. You have to make the savings, the meter does fuck all.

Had them in last house and bills not only mysteriously went up, but on one occasion added 300 units of gas in a week. We use about 400 in a year normally and when I complained was told we must have a gas leak (that also mysteriously fixed itself). So as far as I'm concerned they can modify meter readings which is why I've declined a meter at my current address.

Never mind smart we don't even have digital, it's still have a wheel meter here that looks like it was installed when the house was built.

I pay just over £55 per month and am over £200 in credit at the moment. Don't have a smart meter though as I don't want it to become a dumb meter when I switch.
