    Default V.P.N. Foreign countries.

    Hi.
I live in the U.K. I see adverts for vpn deals that advertise in dollars ect from the USA and looks like Canada.
    Was looking at this deal.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Would this VPN work for me in the U.K. I see I can order using Paypal.

Anyone know of any better deals that work better would be very helpful.
    Thanks Flexy.

Go for the 3year deal with Nord and it's about £4 per month but that deals even cheaper. I use it for the TV

So I wouldn't have any problems with me being from the U.K paying in pounds and the program being run from abroad?
    Thx Mickey.

I've tried it in Spain and Portugal . Setting it to the uk and able to watch the BBC. it works without no issues for me. Plus you get I think 9 connections. so all you phones Kodi boxes and tablets can be protected at the same time. Also their cybersec filters removes adverts and malware

    Hi.
I bought the Nord VPN. I had downloads of around 37 meg Nord has knocked this down to around 20 meg. Is that natural for the net to drop by almost half my speed seems a lot when paying for the Nord VPN. I have just installed it would it take a while to settle down or always loose this amount of bandwidth?
    Thanks Guys.

yeah its weird but I get better upload speed using the vpn than if not, no matter which server I use on speedtest or vpn server on nord

the comparison with my android box is slightly worse when I use nord VPN but not much worse I think I get 72/18 without and about 52/18 using nord

it all depends on day to day, sometimes its better some times its not

but not getting the 82 megs I used to get from BT might be a time to ring them up lmao

I used to get 82mb down as well now I’m lucky if I get 45mb
I rang bt and they dropped my package and said they can’t provide 82mb.

Total shit if you ask me.

Why is there such a bandwidth drop connecting with Nord. I have tried servers all over the world some are a lot better than others.I find Iceland and Germany where the best for me yesterday.Has your I.P. got anything to do with the speed drop or just Nord?

Its all to do with how much power your PC is. a FASt i7 is able to process the bandwidth better than a slow older computer

The lower the spec pc/android/firestick the less speed you will get as its the peripheral that does all the work of the VPN (its software based)

    just tested my Nokia 8

without nord running I'm getting 48m on standard wifi
when I run nord I'm getting 38 on same wifi

This is downloads, the uploads had stayed the same at 18m

My X92 Android TV Box gives
Without nord running (wired) in getting 73m Download / 19m upload
    with nord running (Wired) I'm getting 46m downloads / 18 m uploads

dunno how relevant this is to you guys but VPNs are a norm for foreigners here in China due to censorship and the general lameness of the 'localised' internet.

I'm running expressVPN here which gives me access to about 150 different servers and comes with a custom firmware you can install onto some higher spec routers. I got a s/h linksys 1900 and run the vpn software though that which gives me options to choose which devices are filtered individually.

I use AirVPN, and get no noticable difference at all from using it.

On BT Infinity and if i download a torrent with the VPN running it will max out the DSL meaning that for anyone else the internet almost stops! Fortunately I throttle the client and all is well.

AirVPN will pick the fastest server on startup and most are usually in the netherlands.

    What protocols are you using?

It's been a while since I used VPN, but I remember a few years ago I used to be responsible for a few site to site VPN's, and I found a reasonable amount of CPU power was needed to avoid bottlenecking IPSEC. PPTP was a lot less CPU intensive, but is considered pretty weak security these days.

    Thanks to Over Carl
