So I need a durable matt black paint for use on aluminium and hammerite only do a 'smooth', 'satin' and a hammered finish from what I can see.

Has to be a tin, not aerosol.

    Anyone know of anything?

Looks good. I'm painting a piece of plankton sampling equipment that is going to be used underwater in seawater. Doesn't have to have anticorroison properties. Just anti avoidance so it doesn't scare away fish.

I'm thinking maybe a Bbq paint would be good but I can only find it in aerosols...

Look for engine or radiator paints, they come in all flavours and are probably just as good.
