    Default 4K HDD tv players

Looks like we're about to join the 4K TV club in the sale's
My current hdd player only supports 1080, so im trying to find a good reliable 4k replacement.
Ideally It would need to have >>

    > 3.5" hdd support (as that is what is in my current media player)
    > Mini DLNA to stream to the ipads (1080 content)
    > Built in 5G WIFI
    > FTP support for transferring content.
    > 4K online streaming support

    Such a thing exist ?

I think the Nvidia Shield is the only one that streams 4K from anywhere you like due to silly licensing issues
I tried to grab the "top performing android tv box chart of 2018 list" which lists some of the boxes and features for you but I'm struggling to find it in hd so you can actually read it lol
I think this is where it was originally posted satworld.org/t44075-topic

I'd also go for the Shield. The Minix Neo boxes have excellent reviews too. Just be mindful of what you require for 4k streaming. If your going to use a kodi addon to stream 4k content, you'll need fibre at least. Some of the 4k files are upto 80gb. My fibre hovers at around 35 mbps and I struggle to stream anything from Kodi. Netflix and Amazon Prime are ok though.

After a bit of research, it would seem that some of the cheaper 4k STB's are in fact only 1080 & the Chinese are falsely advertising them as 4K
One of the cheaper ones which supports 4K is the Xiaomi Mi Box 3.
This one seems one of the best for the money, but still no internal HDD However I maybe able to use it via USB.. some more googling shall be required.
A quick google & there is a guy selling them for 20 on the bay (Bay item number:113494130096).
Seems very cheap so not sure if they are clones or wft is going on.

Iplayer now works fine, works from the filelinked site in the other thread
I not tried a HDD but works great from a usb stick (64 gig)

mine runs on Android 7.1.2 so is quite still up to date

make sure you get the 3gig/32gig one also if your planning on getting one

I just tried one of my HDDs but the android box has not got enough umpf to spin the HDD properly, should work with a powered one though

    EDIT:
ive used one of them 2 usb splitters to a mini usb which goes into the HDDs usb slot, both of my drives work fine now with the X92 both drives spun up and were seen (80gig & 140gig)

Does DLNA just work after setup & have you tried "transmission" on it for your torrents ?

Not sure as I haven't needed to use anything like that

I use DC++ on the pc when I need something which is rare these days
