Yes, very similar spec wise, just wondered how much impact I'd feel from the extra RAM and extra mAh capacity. As if it's neglegible, then going for best deal seems the most logical option.

Got myself a Pocofone F1 2 weeks ago from Gearbest.

It's a fantastic phone for 240. It's as fast as any phone i've tried it against. And the battery life is incredible. Screen obviously not as good as an amoled iphone but sharp enough for me.

    Love it.

Would have jumped at it, but I want NFC sadly.

My Nexus 5X is near its death, so I need a new phone too!

I was looking at the Pixel 3 as well, but, like you, I don't want to be spending a ton of cash on a phone...

Still have not taken the plunge yet, the deals I was looking at were all 3 years! Hence the good price, all these phones are circa 45+ a month, which is over double my simplicity, so going to hold off a bit I think.

So I've now decided that I am going to buy the phone sim free, and keep my existing EE Sim Only as it's a good deal.

I've moved away from the S10, for usual Samsung Bloating reasons, really sick of that now.

So I'm between Oneplus 6T again and the Pro Mate P20.

Any recommended places to buy SIM Free these days? Not done it in years, used to be like EBuayer/Ebay etc.

So finally settled on a Huawei Mate Pro 20.

I had found a really good deal on Affordable Mobiles.co.uk, nothing upfront for the phone, 38 PM, 30GB data and 45 cashback. Which in theory reduces my 2 year contract down to 36.50 per month.

I called EE as I am SIM ONLY with them on a 21 PM 20GB deal, who matched the offer, and although I lost out on the cashack, they did waive the next day delivery cost of 9.99.

So over 2 years a little down on the first deal, but at least I don't have to give notice, cancel, take out new deal and then port my number etc.

I know the P30 is on pre order, but the 2 year contracts were just extortionate, c 58+ PM, and the Mate P20 has some great reviews.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Maybe in 2 years the likes of Poco and Xoami etc will have caught up with some essentialls such as NFC and Notifications Screens etc

    Thanks to BigBrand

Just upgraded the camera app on my pocofone with the google camera app that has been ported from the pixl 3.

    much faster and more features.

I have to say i am really liking this pocofone.

Oh yeah forgot to mention, I broke the screen in the first 24 hours. Didn't have a case on it. 250 replacement, so living with it for now!

If anyone else is in the market for a Chinese Phone, I bought an OPPO RX17 (the cheaper Neo version), a few weeks back, and I've been impressed with it thus far.

The build quality seems good, battery life is more than adequate, already received a software update OTA, generally can't complain for the price.

Oh, and what is usually a bugbear for me, the Thumbprint works very well (I'd guess at 9 times out of 10, it opens up for me without having to put the pin code in).

Worth a look if nothing else.
