Ps4 Pro or xbox one x

So a few sources have told me the xbox one x is the superior console now..

Having never had a 4k tv is the difference when gaming really noticeable?

I've always owned ps4s but not one of these fan boys so happy to switch. Ps4 seems to have more decent exclusives though....

A friend who has to have all the gadgets from day one has both. We both agree the the One X does look better on his massive 4k LG OLED display. Noticably better.

Games like Far Cry 5 are just amazing on his One X

I'm thinking of getting one of them soon but after spending time round his it will deffo be the One X.

Honestly, choose the console which has the games you want to play. I've faffed around with all sorts of different content and can honestly say that the jump from standard def to HD is bigger than the jump from HD to 4K, unless you've got the huge OLED or QLED displays. Let's be honest, when you're in the heat of a game, you don't take a few seconds to admire the picture quality. I'm normally screaming what a cheating bastard the game is.

To be honest, I still get the most use from my android GPD XD tablet. Always up for a blast on Bubble Bobble or R-Type on Mame4Droid!

The best advice I can give from currently owning both the x and the pro is that the x can help games look better and is the console that I usually default buy my games from when I choose. A wee caveat to that is that I do review games reviews from digital foundry and there are times were the pro is slightly better in some aspects. TJB is probably bang on the nose though with the best advice, it really will boil down to what games you want to play and what your mates have that will win the day and if you have a 4k tv. If you dont have a 4k TV then dont waste your money and put it towards the next gen consoles.

Well I don't have a 4k tv........ Yet.

Wanting to play red dead redemption 2 and I'm curious about the new zombie game Days Gone for the ps4.

with a new TV on the horizon I may opt for the ps4

I don't play online as I can't stand multilayer

I finally got a current gem console last year and went for the PS4 Pro because it’s what most my friends had and Sony seem to be smashing the exclusive titles. Shame as I love Gears of War on Xbox and the One X is supposed to be more powerful but I doubt the difference in graphics really matters.

Does Xbox have VR? The PSVR is pretty decent kit and can be picked up cheap too.

PS4 all the way then. Uncharted 4, Spiderman & God of War are pretty much the benchmark for single player games. You can throw in the Resident Evil 2 remake and The Last of Us remastered.

The whole PC gaming is better is such a pointless argument.

Like many I have a monster PC gaming setup which of course is better than a console spec wise but when you want to sit in your reclining chair in your ambient living room and relax properly then a console wins every time.

I agree, sit in front of a PC all day plus most games on PC the multiplayer is riddled with cheating through editing just search Battlefield V, Destiny etc cheats on YouTube it's game destroying, the last thing I played on PC was Unreal Tournament and finally got so pissed off with finding drivers for different things before it would run, pissing about with frame rates etc I just gave up on PC. All I want to do is switch it on and play, consoles have started to become more of a pain with update patches but no where near the shit I used to have to go through on PC.

Games are optimised for xbox/ps default hardware where as gaming you have to keep updating your rig every 6 months to keep the graphics top end.

PC gaming for me. But I do have an Xbox One X and its great. Some games work with game pass and such so you get them on both PC and Xbox. My vote is the Xbox. For me the Xbox game controller is far superior to the PS controller also. The PS pad is just to small.

However PS does have some cracking exclusives at the minute. One of the best games I've ever played is 'The Last of Us' on PlayStation
