Default Google seem to have gone to the dark side...

Google are about to lock out "non google" access to Okay Google and Nest devices... They seem to be following the fruit based business model.

    Thanks to MHP

That sucks, I have Nest thermostats, Outdoor IQ cam and doorbell. I was already thinking of moving from Alexa to Google Home so it can announce who was at the door if they are recognised but only hadn’t yet as I use an Echo Plus for its ZigBee bridge. Don’t like that it is not going to work with IFTTT, hope they move on that. I haven’t got Home Assistant up and running yet so not sure if it could do much with that or not.

Common business model these days. Get punters in then lock em down. Sure Europe would have protected us from such stuff.
