Default Films you liked that haven't aged well

Watched 'Waynes World' tonight for the first time in ages. It's far less impressive now than I remember, in fact I struggled to see what I saw in it originally.

'Weird Science' is another one that's not aged well, in fact [Only registered and activated users can see links. ][Only registered and activated users can see links. ][Only registered and activated users can see links. ] is the only thing that saves it.

    add to that:

    Highlander.
    Quadrophenia
    2001:A Space Odyssey.
    Teenwolf
    Big trouble in little China

    2 Thanks given to BigBrand

Watched Teenwolf last year and agree itís not aged well at all. Itís a shame as all the ones you listed were brilliant when I was younger.

Saying that The Goonies is still excellent

You know what....I can't think of any.

But, there are a number of films that I am fond of that I actively stay away from, as I fear they won't have stood the test of time, and I don't want to sully them. A few are:

    Face/Off
    The Dark Crystal
Tron (I watched 10 minutes of it recently, but switched it off as I could see the way it was going)

Thanks for the heads-up about Big Trouble in Little China, Bigbrand - I will avoid it!

I personally think that a lot of the early CGI films have dated quite badly. Things like The Mummy Returns and the Star Wars prequels. Disagree about Big Trouble though. Still good fun.

    Thanks to TJB

I watched flight of the navigator at Xmas and I can’t believe how bad the cgi was.

and only a few weeks ago a classic ruined by watching on a HD tv ET was on and I thought wow not seen this in years.
it didn’t stay on for long the animation was just awful.

Sonow I’m scared to watch anything I class as a good oldie just in case it ruins another childhood memory.

Did you watch it in 4D?

You get a blast to the face and you can really see it coming out the screen

I watched Short Circuit the other day, and am happy to report that it holds up well.

Ghostbusters though......watched that too....ummmm, if I say it doesn't hold up, will I get banned?

A few 'classics' I've watched recently and hadn't seen for a long time are Scum, Threads, Boys from the Black Stuff and Rita, Sue and Bob too. All from a different era and the last one being a bit 'non-pc' these days but did enjoy them still, especially Sue's pissed up dad.
