    Default Chernobyl

Just started watching this, two episodes in. I remember this actually happening and I've done my research over the years. I've watched loads of urbex footage and played the various games that have Pripyat maps in them. However, this really hits home from a personal, human sacrifice point of view. No CGI, just fantastic acting from a mainly British cast and a real feel for the Soviet period of the time. Hat's off to HBO for creating this and it goes to show how far off British TV is from making quality content.

    It is a great series.

Don't agree about poor British tv though, there's loads of quality drama series.

Very good mini series. 5 episodes and out. Won’t be a second series, but that’s really not the point.

Some very distressing scenes in this, but it’s factual, interesting and very well made.

Mix of real and cgi footage. Those with it on Sky+ watch it in SD for that added feel lol.

    Only thing is:

    Spoiler:
all English actors/actresses lol. Odd to get ur head round at first....

    Advise anyone to watch this.

    First post so here goes

What really comes home to me is the personal sacrifice of people, the ordinary workers. Difficult to tell if they knew the true extent of the risk (for Mother Russia etc) but the number of unselfish acts to try and contain the problem we all benefitted from

Done and dusted. Episode 5 had a bit of a different feel but finished it off perfectly. Outstanding (award winning!) acting, enthralling viewing and seriously educational. 10 out of 10.

Too be honest the first episode was really drawn out and boring as fuck, I nearly turned it off.

I'm glad I didn't as it just got better and better until I was hooked.

Watched the fifth episode tonight. Really excellent series and well produced too. I visited Chernobyl in 2012 and glad that I did so.

Great mini series. Great acting and cinematography. I got more upset about the pets bit.
