    Default Recommend me a tablet

Looking for a tablet I can use for an upcoming long haul flght, so the following things are what I'm after:

    * Nice size screen for watching shows/Movies.
    * Must have an SD slot (so I can load SD Cards with Movies/TV Shows of my choice)
    * Decent battery life (although no vital as can charge)
    * Decent RAM/GPU capable of stutter free playback of 1-3GB video files.
    * Wifi only (no SIM needed etc)
    * Bluetooth (for headphone connectivity)

Budget is around 150 and I'm fine with second hand.

I want to avoid the dreaded Android Chinese market on Ebay of none branded items, with cheap tech that's a load of tosh!

    Any recommendations?

samsung tab a10.1 (make sure you check that it is the 2019 version and not 2018 version or younger) just released in April this year 32gb base model expandable sd storage, only has 2gb ram and speakers for some reason are on one side but not a bad tablet. It currently retails at just under 200. You may get a used one closer to your price, but think you are probably between that and the amazon fire tablet unless you are getting an old school 2nd hand apple tablet from likes of gumtree etc.

The tab 10.1 does not advertise it has bluetooth but it does, the spec and reviews say you will get just over 10.5 hours of use out of it which is not bad for a tablet at that price

2018 version sells on amazon at 149

On ebay someone is selling at 170 which is closer to your price, condition as new [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] The guy also says best offer, potential to get it for less than 170 including postage.

Just watch though as I say for the different versions with same name but different year.
    There is another

10 inch is great. I use mine on the plane, but is a little bulky so that's the reason I am getting a smaller one
my Nokia phones ok and that's only err I think 7 inch.

I found the 10 inch tab vs previous ipad tablets which were slightly smaller screens ok, one thing I like about the tab was the viewing angles and reflectiveness on the screen was not too bad (didn't really test this too much). Viewing angle was good from a variety of angles but didn't test in sunlight. I bought mine and then lost my job so had to sell the tab. That is not mine on ebay just in case anyone wonders. I dont think I could watch a film on a 7 inch tablet but if you have a local Curry's / PC World they sell them and you could have a look there before you decide either way.

It has the latest version of android v9 on it when you open up, Samsung has also changed the user interface to make it more like apple (not sure if that is good or bad).

Found the repsonse to be very good, watching youtube clips was good and no audio or video issues. Only negative here is speakers are on one side but if you can live with that should be fine. I could hold the tablet in one hand comfortably but obviously would have to use the other for using the tablet.

10.5 hours is average use and could get more if it is was light use i.e video and browsing. Somebody put a hd video on loop and lasted just over 10.5 hours.

It wont play latest greatest games though as it is a low spec ram. It has almost a full metal back with just top section being plastic for the antena.

If you want more ram you could get up to 3gb of ram but would be over your budget and would be the 64gb or 128gb of base storage.

Hope this is helpful and best of luck to you with whatever you choose.

    Thanks to gandalf72

Still looking, I did like that Lenovo one, but I've been reading it's a Chinese version of Android as such, the Play store doesn't allow many apps to be installed that are not going on a genuine Android device?

Have you noticed that at all?

Furthermore, I've left it a bit late now, I need it for a trip away Sept 4th, so unlikely to come from HK by then!

Had it a week, a very long story and I recommend that you do not buy from scamgood as they are a bunch of liars (ill make a post about it later)
This is the 2nd tablet as the first is somewhere in Poland lmao. Had it a few days and I really really love it. no issues at all with playstore and everything
loadedup/installed via playstore as well as side loading through filelinked.

the Batteries last well so far 2 days with light use and leaving it on all the time
hustle castle lasted all day constantly on and off playing it. my phone lasts about 2 hours tops
The GPS works ok with no issues loading here maps and showing me where I am/going

The cameras both do great shots considering its a tablet

overall I would give it a 9/10 as getting a rubber cover is getting hard to find and would have
gone 10/10 if there was OTA upgrading so your stuck on 7.1.1 which isn't that bad at all really

I would recommend the tab and if the first one does arrive it`ll be a nice cheap present for the lil lady at Christmas

That's funny, great heads up over a company others shoudld avoid.

Maybe an idea for a thread somewhere about online electronic suppliers to avoid for others not reading the thread.

Seems awesome capabilities, I'm going to scan over that URL some more now.

    TIA.

first thing I did was get rid of the bloatware, which was an easy uninstall and it all went
Malwarebytes flagged up a program that was added to the whitelist, it didn't look that
    suspicious

The only APP from filelinked that didn't install was Redbox, this was flagged up as being a harvester

The rubber/plastic covers on ebay are crap, I sent the one I got back there about 5.99 or summat.
The Tablet will take upto 256m SD cards, I got a small A1 card and that works fine, not as though I need the memory/space
    for a long-time to come

I installed Nova Launcher and I like it over the Lenovo launcher, its in the APPstore, but the prime version is on filelinked which is the paid version

    Also
I have just purchased a hard plastic back for the tablet, as its now got some of that protective glass I didn't want it bulking out with a full cover, plus I couldn't find any that I liked

Well the hard plastic back finally came from aliexpress and its really good, more like a rubber compound than plastic so it grips better and is a deep black
colour so looks well with the white frontage. I noticed that with high usage GPU intensive games that the tablet was getting quite warm but nothing that worried me, with the new back plate I cut a piece of alu film and placed that inside the backing. seems to spread the heat around a bit more, but not a real issue at the moment.
