If I’m not mistaken this isn’t possible and you would need to try and get the sellers info again.

    Sorry fella

You might find a local guy that does repairs can have a bash but like I said I’m sure it’s a no go.

I’m not sure if it can be done mate.

Maybe enter dfu mode and restore a new firmware but again I think you may need the details to remove it from the iCloud account.

    try this.

If find my iPad was turned on then you need those iCloud details to use it again. If you enter DFU then restore it will not activate until you sign into the iCloud account it is locked to. There are some places that offer iCloud unlock services but they can be very expensive and I don’t understand a lot of the terminology to know what service would apply. Mobileman may be able to offer some advice and correct me though!

Is it 4 digits or more? What age is it? (serial number will help with this). I believe some old models are easy to fix, then if there is a 4-digit iCloud lock there is a tool you can buy that bruteforces but you have to record the tool using a camera so when reviewing the footage you can work out a short list of possible codes then enter that yourself to unlock. If it is a 6-digit then I think you may be able to swap a chip on the logic board.

The code I am talking about has 4 boxes:

Other codes/passwords may require different methods. Couple of options here, the second option is the one I was talking about for old Macs:

Other than that, I think you can use a SPEG programmer like with Thinkpad BIOS passwords but you need to buy the programmer, dump a chip, pay for the mod and submit the dump then the supplier sends back a modified dump for you to write back. I haven't tried this before but it's a reputable team that does it.

If you thought it’d work I can lend you mine but mine was sold specifically for 4 digit pins like I sent a pic of and they said it will not work on 6 digits as it takes too long to brute that many combinations. It also doesn’t stop of buzz, you need to film it (or set up time lapse photos) then you will have a shortlist of pins to try. It only brutes numbers, slightly concerned yours may have alphanumerical.

If it’s iCloud locked ur stuffed. Any iOS device tied to an I could account cannot be wiped/reset/restored etc. It can even be tracked by the legitimate owner online to some degree.

They can be forced though, like anything. There’s hardware fixes and there was allegedly a tool to do it a while back, but only certain iOS and device restrictions.

Now I notice as well when restoring and updating in iTunes I see it even masks some of the email used for the iCloud account making it more hard to try and fluke or guess a password.

If this iPad was owned by the seller surley they would have totally reset it to the factory default for the new owner to setup themselves...

Theres a lot of techno-idiots out there so this isn’t guaranteed.

I know the owner but they got no clue what the PIN is and I thought this was the firmware lock (bit like BIOS lock) not cloud locked?

Well a restore and update will clear the pin, but you won’t be able to set it up as a new device without knowing the iCloud email and password.

I've used this site in the past which worked fine - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

It took a week or so to complete the process but cleared the iCloud association.

    Thanks to reverend

Wonder how that works, based on the “products” they offer... But pricey though.
