    Default Holiday buddy

Im finding it harder these days to find a holiday buddy as most are in full on relationships with young children or, dont want to go abroad, , not allowed, dont have the funds or are just too fookin annoying to put up with for 2 weeks.
Im in a long term relationship, & the other half prefers to go to gigs and talks & has no prob with me going away for a term.

Last time I went with an old friend from school, only to find out their main goal was to get wasted every night, which resulted in them becoming truly annoying & at times embarrassing.
The one person i know who is able to travel lives over in Canada (im uk) which just makes any package deal impossible.

Sooooo.. does anyone know of any holiday forums that caters for such things, where you can find like minded solo people also in a similar predicament ?

Not sure how old you are but SAGA holidays could be a good option

Sent from my Philips Diga via BT Cellnet
Just use enough water to cover your vegetables, the same goes for when you're having a bath....

    Thanks to satzzz

Do you have a hobby that you could go abroad and do? Other than that i have no idea about any websites that might facilitate this kind of thing.

    Thanks to DavidF

A few years ago I had the same sort of idea so wondered about trying to start something up. There are company’s that arrange itinerary’s and put you in a group, might cost you more but my girlfriends mum met people on them and has gone away with some of them since by booking theirselves. If you like I can ask her for some details?

    Thanks to evilsatan

The saga holidays looks like there for the over 50's, which im not quite there yet... ill keep it in mind though for later.
I chatted to my mate in Canada & maybe able to arrange something this time, but it seems to get harder each year.

Im not so much into looking at the the likes of Museums & plants, nor sitting on my arse in front of the pool the entire time. For me i want to explore & find hidden away gems away from all the other fookin tourist's lol.
EG> i wanted to hire a 50cc bike in Cuba and go for a wonder using the phones GPS, the person i was with had zero interest & just kept putting a downer on everything i suggested. Still had a good time, met some great people but could of been better imo.
Ill keep on looking & if i get really desperate, there is always facebook !

I wonder if you might find what you are after on the trip adviser forums. Pick a specific area that you fancy exploring and then get logged in to them forums and join the discussions.

    Thanks to DavidF

Anyone from here is off bounds

I think she uses Intrepid for some tours and has met people on them that she has then gone away with without the tour company.

CouchSurfing.com would be good for this sort of thing.

It's for people to ask/provide a bed for a few nights while travelling but also has option to ask for meet up's/hangout
Also has a list of local events posted by the locals so can find some cool stuff while travelling.

Might be what you are looking for.

    Thanks to TotallyRandom

I just go away by myself sometimes and alway have the best adventures, it can be hard to find someone to travel with because most people have thier own agenda and different ideas of what they want to do... It was a bit daunting the first few times but great fun after that..the only downside is if you get ill then it can feel quite isolating..
