    Tech SKY Q / HI-SENSE TV ISSUES

    Hi All

recently purchased a HiSense 55" 4k TV ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) and I am having a few issues with it via my Sky Q box.

if the Sky Q 2TB box is left idle for a specific amount (i.er. 30mins-1hr) I cannot press the power on button on the remote to turn back on and have to unplug from the mains, problem is this has only started happening since I purchased the tv.

no previous issues when I had a samsung 4k TV.

has anyone got a HiSense TV with Sky and having any similar issues or anything I should look for on either the TV or SKY box.

    Thanks

Sounds like a HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) issue. Check the CEC settings in each device or try a different HDMI port.

It should be on on, both devices, but try setting it to off and see if that changes anything. If the Sky box has no CEC options then check the energy saving options and turn them off. The Samsung would have definitely had CEC. It's worth trying a different HDMI port and cable as well.

We have this same issue with our zegemma box and our samsung 50" 4k

I have been through many different option on the cec settings on the zegemma but it always ends the same.
After an hour or so we can no longer control the zegemma using the smart remote from the tv i have to press and hold the remote power button to restart the tv and then it will work again.

I have been told elsewhere it could be the HDMI cable rather than the tv or box but i dont see how thats possible if it works for an hour or two.
Good luck fella sadly we have never found a fix.
