Just rediscovered a PS2 slim in a cupboard of a caravan we bought. Because the weather was shitty I decided to dust it off and set it up for the kids who are 6 and 10 and only have ever played games on their tablets.
Even though the graphics are nearly 20 years old, the gameplay on the few games we have caught their attention for hours! They were getting their friends over to play, couldn't wait to try another game and killed time in the bad weather. Maybe too much emthasis is placed on graphics now and not basis gameplay!!
Time to look in charity shops or if games can be downloaded onto a HDD as I imagine some of the gems I played on 20 years ago aren't easy to find! Think I bought a PS2 back in the day just for FF7!
Anyone else had a similar story or in a similar position with an old console?
Cheers emu. I have looked into that last night. Seems like mine will work as it is a pre-2008 model. Needs to be an official Sony card. Got to get one of those as the game saves do not work currently. Then maybe a HDD with Tom's and they will be away! Good to see the kids enjoying some retro games that I like back in its day!
Just the fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.
