Do you know what games he wants to play and at what quality settings? That system has an NVMe SSD which is good, it has good RAM too. I don't know enough about PC gaming to comment on the CPU/GPU but hear good things about Ryzen for gaming.

I'm not too sure which games, but he tells me they are some of the latest. This is going to be a surprise gift so I can't really ask too much lol

I'm still rocking an Intel/Nvidia setup but if I wanted a new rig then I would now go AMD. Ryzen CPU's have stolen the show from Intel over the last year or so and they are seriously catching up in the GPU market. You could probably build something yourself and save a few quid, but if that's not your bag then this is a good deal. The pros; CCL are a good retailer and the overall package is balanced. The cons; The GPU and power supply are no name, but the 3 year warranty helps with this.

It's subjective, if I was to build this using the rough specification of the Warlock Gaming PC and your son's requirements for a gaming PC then I would ditch the 2TB HDD, Phanteks Eclipse P400A D-RGB Gaming case and the 3x Cooler Master MasterFan MF121L RGB. I would replace these components with cheaper 'less bling' items and save the dosh or invest the money in upgrading the more important items.

    Thanks to MHP

Yes I did tweak the parts but price is still high.
I used to build these things every day for 6 years, but CBA these days since i no longer do it for a living.
Building them seems exactly the same but savings far less lol.

    Thanks to Bobby Bouché

If you want to spend a bag of sand for gaming PC for your son's birthday and not have any come backs then this is a good deal, he's gonna love it. However, this PC is spec'd for 1440p... is he gonna take advantage of that or is he a 1080p gamer?

He is using aMEDION ERAZER X7847 17.3 INCH CI5 8GB 1TB 128GB SSD LAPTOP. He is limited by the laptop I'm guessing.

the gpu and cpu are going to dictate your user experience gpu more so, the ccl warlock pc looks ok, although I would change a few items id change the gpu to a rtx 2070 super, psu to a corsair tx750 and I guess you need a monitor id suggest a 1440p, pc gaming isn't cheap im £2100 into my build and only got a gtx 1060 to add the 2070 super that's anonther 500

What monitor (or TV) is he going to be using?
