    Default Office ??

Can anyone tell me which was the final version of MS office that only required a one time activation. (not every 6mnths)
I know Office 2007 does, but is there a more recent version ?

    IE> 2010, 2013, 2016.
2019 requires an activation every 6months.

I’m not sure but from 2013 they started making some big changes such as masking the product key so if you run key recovery tools you’d only get the last 4 characters and they also made it so you’d tie the product key to your Microsoft account which IMO was to stop resale as it voids the key in the retail box.

If you have kids at school/uni they may be able to get the full legit office package for a heavily discounted rate, or some employers with software assurance can do the same for employees. I think it’s 15-25, it was a lifetime licence but not sure if it is now.

Its for a friend abroad who lives out in the sticks & doesn't have the internet except on her phone.
I know she could possibly tether it, but the internet where she is lives doesn't always work & tethering will be way to difficult for her & tbh more a headache for me.
The internet was shit at best, but since some inbred set fire to the local node its almost useless.
Ill test out 2010 here with KMS & see how it goes.
    Thanks fellas.

Any particular reason it has to be MS office? A few great open source office suites out there nowadays.

I went for MS office over Open office purely for reason of local support.
Ms Office is what will be mostly used there, so if she needs any help it should be a simple task of just asking someone local, & Ms are still rolling out updates for it (for when/if her net is ever working) as far as i know unlike some of the freeware equivalents.
Im trying to cover all basis to save me as much trouble as possible
