Default Anybody Still Using a Motorised Dish

I moved house about six months ago and have my old motorised dish from the shed, unused for about five years.

I was thinking about setting it up at my new place in the garden at ground level. I think I'll be able to get about 30e to 30w.

Is anyone here still using a motorised system and if so would you recommend faffing about (re)installing my dish? It's a simple rotating positioner, no up/down. I used to use it for sports but also just looking around for the strange foreign shows and whatever was out there. Also watched those feeds which weren't on an inclined arc.

I'd have thought most people were using IPTV now for sports and whatever else they needed.

Please remember that using IPTV to view subscribed channels like sly and other paid for content channels is highly illegal and should not be discussed on the open forums

I still have my 1.2m motorised in the back garden. Can still get plenty of channels with it.

Just use enough water to cover your vegetables, the same goes for when you're having a bath....

I would have thought if it hasn't been used for that length of time it would have seized up?

    Fair play.

I had an actuator that I didn't use for a few years and it wouldn't budge when I powered it up.

It's been kept in the dry mate so hopefully not. I can fix that anyway if that's the case. Mowed the lawn today and had another look at the corner it could go in. Seems an ok place to put it.

Mine is only 0.8m offset. From memory you should just about get Nilesat vertical transponders with 1.2m?

I think I will put my dish back up. Will wait a bit longer for the garden to grow so I can see what plants are there.

Are there many FTA channels still around?
