    Help High refresh monitor needed.

    Hi all,

Looking for recommendations on a 120 or 144Hz monitor that won't break the bank. I run a LG ultrawide at the moment but it's only 75Hz and I think I would benefit from a higher refresh for gaming.

I am not a fan of TN panels, would rather IPS but I know beggars can't be choosers and the nearer to £200 the better if this is asking too much though, I will find more for the right display

    Cheers,

    Malty

I just brought one of these as an upgrade for my last AOC monitor which is still going after 10yrs.. Pretty good value for money and performs really well..

That was one I looked at yesterday as it happens. I've always gone for IPS and I see that's a VA panel. How does it compare ? I cannot stand TN panels. They look so muddy and washed out after being used to modern mobile device screens.

I'm loathed to get rid of my ultrawide but ultrawide 144Hz screens run £400+ for a decent panel.

Actually leaning quite heavily towards this one. 144Hz, IPS, 27"

what graphics card are you running ??, certainly when you go 1440p getting 144 fps in some games can be tricky unless your sporting a 2080 Ti, the monitors your looking at seem to be 1080p so getting to 144 fps will be easyier, unless you have a dinosaur graphics card and depending on what games you want to play

ah is the pc in your sig ??

if its a 1660ti then you might find you need to run games on medium or lower to get 144 fps ( depending on game )

just keep turning settings up untill it starts to drop below 144 fps

for me im running 1440p and a RTX 2070 super and only get 100 fps on medium in COD warzone ( low settings and id just as well play minecraft ) yet CSGO i get over 200 ( capped to 144 for Gsync )

Yes 1660ti although considering an upgrade to a 2070 when the new 3xxx series drops (I always use trailing edge tech for best value)

I am happy at 1080p I just need a higher refresh than I currently have.
