Default Thinking of buying Honda Pan European ST1300 - any comments

Thinking of buying Honda Pan European ST1300 for doing a bit of touring next year, also considered a Triumph Trophy or even a Harley but need something comfortable for the missus on the pillion and preferably with side panniers and probably a top box hence the Honda.
Anyone here owned one ( or the Triumph or Harley ) and have any comments good or bad or suggestions of a better ride. Dont want to spend more than 6 or 7k as i wont do more than 1500 - 2000 miles a year and dont want horrendous depreciation or repair costs..

My uncle used to go touring on his pan he loved it. Years after he'd moved on he saw his old pan in a bike shop and bought it there and then because he'd enjoyed it so much. Then riding to work one morning some idiot doing a U turn crashed into him. He ended up retiring early just a few weeks shy of fifty years service. Anyway as you can read I've got no specific experience but it was a bike that was well appreciated by my uncle.

going to look at a 2011 Honda ST1300 Pan European tomorrow fairly high mileage at 50k but 1 owner from new and all the dealer service history so as these bikes are reckoned to be good for 150k I reckon its worth a look.

This is what I ended up buying, 2011 Honda ST1300 Pan European which although seriously heavy stationary is easy once you get moving.
