    Default Help / Advice

Currently have an old n40l microserver it's finally kicking up it's heels, looking to replace it with something similar but up-to-date. I use it as a file server (4 X 2tb 1 X SSD for the os) for my small business, plex / emby server used to run a VM on there for torrenting but that refuses to run anymore.

Not really sure where to start I think I need more grunt than a Nas box but the I'm not sure if the hp microservers are still decent or if other options are available/better?

    Any pointers appreciated.

    Cheers

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the Gen8 HP Microserver sounds like it would do the job for you. Unlike your model, you can replace the processor and there are loads that fit so you can pick one that suits your needs, takes a decent amount of RAM and you can add a dedicated RAID card or GPU if you wanted (depending on what's more important for you). A lot of info is collated here:
