Lg43uf680v problem

I've got an LG TV model number lg43uf680v. The picture suddenly went off and there was just diagnal coloured lines on the screen but the sound is still there, I've looked up on it and heard it could be the main board, I am going to purchase a main board but I don't want to if this isn't the reason.

Before you commit to a new main board, I would investigate the T-Con board first because this is the board that builds the display horizontally and vertically.

Its also a cheaper board to replace.

The T-Con went in my father-in-laws TV a couple of years ago.

The issue with his was a cold solder joint and was easily repaired by putting it in the oven for 10 minutes. Its been fine ever since.

His symptoms were similar with 1 horizontal line straight across the screen, but it was just white.

30 quid? The only main boards advertised I needed were ranging upwards of 140 quid. I got the TV from a friend so I wasn't worried about the outcome, but you can change your smiley to a LOL because I must of mistook the advice after Googling it & ended up cooking it with temperatures hotter than Lucifer could handle, it came out of baked (without smoking any weed) , I passed it on and the lad who has it is still looking for a reasonably priced main board (still needing oven gloves to handle it)
