It's a shame, they could have made so much more of this game... If this is the final then this game is small dissapointment for meI mean like after a couple of missions the storyline is just not complete and there are still alot of bugs in the game...

thing cracked update
After installing razors cracked update the game seems to quit to windows everytime i try to start a new game or load a game. Anybody else had this problem?

just rebooted my comp and renamed the Crack11.exe file to The Thing.exe and now everything works.

I must be lame. I dont get it. So must i overwrite the original TheThing.exe with the cracked one from razor then i must copy the english.pak to the same directory where the exe is then delete it?

Guys im gettin no sound on cutscenes when i get to the mission where Pierce starts throwing grenades at u cuz hes not sure who u are, will the sound fix help or what?

I don't like it. It's not done with hart, the game is a bit strange, perhaps the developers concentrated on the ps2 version, and simply made a half ass pc version? It feels like a port. Dl it if you liked the movie very much.

I wrote it down. you simply go to the data directory and unpak all of the *.pak into the data dir then delete the *.pak files ok?

THis is by far the most pathetic shit i have ever seen! No matter wut i do i cant seem to start a new game. It just goes back to windows. I have win2k sp2 and the 1.1crack with update.... This is bullshit!!!!!!!!!!
that movie is one of my all time favs, so had to try it out. Im guessing the plot gets lost after the sound drops, after level 2, but I got the fix and will try it later. Anyways, I like the game very much. And with the frozen desolation and drab features. ie.not alot of environmental rendering. The game runs great on slower systems, but its Antarctica, in a blizzard, so you dont need a huge landscape to render. But all that doesnt matter because the game is centered on isolation, fear, and paranoia. And it gets that point across rather well. I love the reactions of the team members in diff situations, and the random vomiting when they see something gross. Compared to other releases this is a very small game, yet they so far seem to be getting alot out of it. It gives me the same feel as Max Payne did, and as that a once through and thats about it for replay value.

I have the same problem as Zero6000. I followed all the directions for the crack and then after i choose my aiming preference it goes back to Windows. Windows XP Home here.

say doesn't anybody read the previous posts in this thread or something?
TO make The thing work with the cracked update by razor just do a clean install of the thing(do not copy over the cracked exe from the cd) and then run the 11update, then rename the crack11.exe file to The Thing.exe and copy it over the uncracked now updated exe file in your Thing/bin dir. now restart your computer. you now have sound after mission 3 and everything should be okay. atleast it is for me.
another thing about The Thing
Hmm i realy don't get why you have those blood test things, if you use it on one of your men they never turn out to be things but a few seconds later they suddenly turn into a Thing, whats the point of being able to test your men if they'll always turn into the Thing at preset points anyway?
It just kinda ruins the "feel" of the game a bit, atleast for me.
