Some games work, some don't...

Here's the deal, I've burned games for my PS2 with some success using the Gameshark swapping method. I have NO chip. Some games work, some don't... is this a result of not having a chip, or the burning method? I'm using Nero 5.5.9

Any help would be much appreciated!

I'm using the shitty sbox/neokey combination w/v5 and have had similar problems. Recently I had many problems getting the snestation and pgen emulators to load. I had been using diskjuggler and someone recommended CDRWin. I got v 5.something and couldn't get it to work, then found a nice version of 3.9. Anyway since I've been burning everything with CDRWin, I haven't had any problems.
