I get 40 fps in 800 with everything up.
Thing is.. with everything down(and tried diffrent rez's) i get the same frames.
done no "tweaks" so.. fill me in 29.42 drivers.

The only way they work is if you change the map name to the same name as one of the included maps. Otherwise it will tell you that you can't play 3rd party maps on the demo only the retail. Though I believe you have to also have all the textures from the beta in the textures folder as I didn't and the map was missing hella shit.
in the UT2003.ini
there some lines
DemoLevels[0]=DM-Curse3
DemoLevels[1]=DM-Antalus
DemoLevels[2]=CTF-Chrome
DemoLevels[3]=DOM-SunTemple
DemoLevels[4]=BR-Endagra
TimeBeforeReboot=5.000000
DemoLevels[5]=
DemoLevels[6]=
DemoLevels[7]=
and it continues up to 63
to if you add the texture and put the name of the map there it should work
can any1 try this?
has anyone difficulties to switch to 16 bit colour resolution ?
it should give me a major performance boost, but the program
always sets it back to 32bit. I have 1024*768*16 res on my desktop, so the driver can handle this screen mode.
any ideas ?
ahem,yes,some specs.
winXP,geforce2mx,enough RAM and a *cough* celeron466 *cough*
+ joystick
you people complain too much, i for one like the game, it brings back fond ut memories, as it does feel like the original but better.. quit crying ..

The shit is cpu limited. get a faster cpu.
however, 40 fps is good enough
Hmm.. maybe it's just my computer.. I get almost the same framerate with low resolution and low graphic detail as i do with everything high 800 600. I got an athlon xp 1800 gf4 4200... and.. I don't know.. i think i should get higher than 35-60... IT even drops to like 20 when a lot of stuff is going on.

well, same here.
i always have around 20-25fps, no matter which resolution and detail settings on my lo end computer (cellery466,gf2mx,320MBram,winxp)

someone test it out
and i guy in another forum
named slug55 or something said that he did some maps for ut2k3
dont know if its true he didnt say were to get them
Nope already tried adding additional maps there, and it didn't work. If you actually have the demo you would notice that those (except DM-Antalus) aren't even the maps included in the demo.Originally posted by louis-123

I actually love this game. Ok, so I get bored with 90% of all games a few days after getting them, but still, I love this game from the graphical point of view...It's the best thing out there so far.
Bombing run also rules...It's practically the best mode I've seen in a FPS...Other "team-based" games, mods, etc, really don't make me get into the action...I get bored and there's really no teamplay involved in them. This game's nice though, it's full of action, you kill fast, you can snipe people, but you can still kill the campers...You respawn after scoring, so people don't just camp the ball spawn...place...It's very well made overall...And the gameplay's pretty nice, though it's not "too" impressive...Then again, who said it would be? (It's still a FPS)
There's the double-jump which is great, the dodging, special combos, etc. They're really great things.
Now for people who say they'll need time to "get used to it"...Seriousely, I find it dumb when people say that...Just play totally different games at the same time (same week/day/etc.), like I do...It takes me about less than a minute to get used to going from CS, to Quake 3, Quake 2, Quake 1, UT, UT2003, SS, and basically any other computer game...I don't see what's so hard about it...All you have to get used to is the weapons, the projectile speed, movement speed, and that's about it...And maybe how many shots it takes to kill...Anyway, it should only take minutes.
Another good thing is that you can play with complete laggers and it'll barely be noticible...A person with 300ms in UT2003 (I have cable so I never have a high ping) moves smoother than one with 50ms in Quake 3, so don't tell me this is "just like Quake 3".
Also, with the rockets (and all other weapons)...You can easily tell when you hit or missed someone. If a rocket blows up near them, they'll be on fire...If you shoot em with something else, you'll see them bleading or sparks flying out of them and so on.
...Anyway, I love graphics, so I love this game (And the frame rates are good)...And for once, I kinda like the gameplay too...It's a very well made game.
UT is the only game I've played regulary (daily) for the past three years. Nothing else interests me. If you play a certain game for that much time, you get adapted to every little aspect of it. I find it hard to believe it takes you less than a minute to adjust between all those different games without playing like a total newbie. You probably don't care about winning and that's cool but I'm more competitive. I play ut to win and fun comes second. UT2k3 will most likely take me 3 months or more to get completely comfortable with.Originally posted by Big D.

from nvidia.com I downloaded the game @ 425KB/s, pretty fast took me few seconds.
UT3 Stinks shit!
Won´t sell! A great dissapointment.
What the fuck are you a fortune teller? There is no Unreal Tournament 3. Sorry Ms. Cleo but no one believed your shit on tv so why would they believe you here? BTW UT2003 is fun as hell.Originally posted by voffla

hvnt read the whole thread, so i dunno if someone already said something like that....
but... imo the translocator ruins a lil of the gameplay...sure there are som pros about it (reaching hidden places, move faster across the map...also nice for bombing run tactics) but it sucks if lamers just keep on warping away from you.... or guys who place the translocator-disc in their base, and if theyre nearly dead they just warp ....i mean, its a fps, so you should fight, not just run away
So you go to their base shoot @ his translocator and the motherfucker diesOriginally posted by veXicate

And you can't use it forever you have to recharge it after 5 shots. I think you are so mad about the translocator cause you are not used to using it, if you learned how to use it you would see it gives the game advantages.
yeah true, nvr pld UT, only q3a... atm mainly using transolcator to move through maps...... well if you pld q3a since its 1st beta the translocator really is strange to uOriginally posted by Dzhedaj
