    Default SD or DDR

    Just a quick question.

I currently have 512MB of SD Ram in my xp1800. I use this mainly for DVD editing and encoding.
Would I be better with 256MB of DDR, or should I stick with what I have.
    Currently I use Win2kPro for DVD riping/encoding/burning.

It will make a small difference.

Encoding and editing dvds uses mostly raw cpu power, therefore the best performance gains will be in cpu power. Although, if you have the cash then it will make a little difference.

If you are using Win2K/XP, then 512MB of SDRAM will be better than 256MB of DDR.

Stuff is usually stored on the RAM I guess...

With the 256 you'll end up using your page file a lot..?
