Default Making money by web hosting?

    Hello.

I have 100mb/sec internet connection and stabile server. I was wondering that is there any way to make money by hosting someones www pages (company, organisation etc.)?
Got allso "enough" hd space to even host big files and serve them whit great speeds.

Where I could find those parties who would need fast and stable hosting and would be allso willing to pay some money for it?

(no, Im not going to host your lame-ass fxp groups siteboard for free or stuff like that, so don't ask.)

Thanks for your answers! Feel free to send private message to me if you got some cool deal for me

if i had a 100mbit box, i'd have a lot more fun than host some webpages.. but if you're serious, get apache/php/etc installed, find out the current rates for small sites, then undercut them.

if the lines not costing u much (anything?) then you can't lose.

    bandwidth

100mbit is great, but look out for bandwidth. if you use 100mbit completly I can bet ya that most likely you will be found out and end of fun.

    stability

are you sure you want to host for money? what is turn rate if there is a problem with server? got a replacement? backups?

    features

what about webmail, people changing their own website, people adding extra emails, zone management?
Every decent webhost has them, will you? databases (which chew through ram)?

    security

have you done ssl? do you have multiple ips (without multiple ips forget about ssl). Do you read up with various security alert groups?

what about internal security? how do you want to protect that what I do on my site wont conflict with another site? You do know that all php scripts run as one user, unless you use wierd hacks, so good luck

    price

look at other hosting places, how much they charge? I can get own linux instance (with root and all) under 100$ USD with 400gb monthly tranfers, plus all automation scripts so making new emails, accounts is a breeze.

Other places will ask for 5$ per month for other setups (usually less bandwidth, and no linux instance/root)

    conclusion

    webhosting is cutthroat bussines
people want more and for less
    support is time taking
finding people to host is also fun

so all in all, I would be very wearry..

I might be confused here but, wouldnt any ISP take a non liking to you selling B/W you buying from them? On top of that, you need to be reliable 24/7. So dont turn anything off. ever. not worth it, and we have only scratched the surface of why this is a bad idea.
