System Shock 2 wont install on NT, need help!

Has anyone else on a windows 2K Pc had this issue? if so how did you fix it? Mine is saying that This product cannot be installed on Windows NT due to a Microsoft DirectX 6.1 limitation.

How do you get by this? any ideals?

Probably a really stupid question...but do you have the latest Direct X installed?

Hmm, thats strange... I remember installing it on NT just fine. Are you sure you have service packs and such installed? And I think you have to have the patch for the game to run, but if its the install thats the problem... well, dunno... should work.

Yes I have SP# installed and DX8 installed. I really have no ideal either not unless its the GForce 4 Ti4600 causing the issues.

Thats about all I can think of.

Ok, After searching the net I found the answer on Irriationals Forum. this is the fix for those of you that might want to know.

setup -lgntforce Type this from a Dos promt to install under Win2K

Then install the "shkpatch.exe" to update it to version 2.3
After its done installing run the icon for the game and your game will run under windows 2K.
