I want a good quality picture for the xbox. I'm looking for a 20-27 inch TV for under 400 dollars. I would like the best picture for it. Thank you for your time.

My suggestion would be post this thread somewhere suitable, like a dedicated site for tv's. While i'm here tho try and get one with RGB and make sure its widescreen. Saying that 4 $400 dollars thats probably a rare feature, if u can't get RGB, get something with S-Vid.
Good luck geez
When you are going to put that much money into something, your best bet is to really research it.. Go to consumerreports, check out cnet, etc. Sony is usually a good company to go with when you buy TV's, I have a 32 inch hdtv from sony, and I havent had any complaints.
Some tips.. Make sure you get something that supports progressive scan if you can (I dont know if all tv's do or not). Also, try get a tv that has Component (red/green/blue) video inputs. xbox looks best using the HD component cables (even if you dont have a HD tv). Good luck.
Philips is a lot better (and Sony TV's are 50% Philips components)
Consumer reports lets you access their site for about $4 a month, just get a one month sub. Their reviews are out of date, most of their reviews are for last years models.
I've been looking at Best Buy, here are the models that I have been considering.
RCA F27650 - $299
Philips 27PS55S - $279
Philips 27PS60S - $299 (on clearance)
Sharp 27US600 - $279
According to Consumer Reports RCAs have a bad track record for repairs. Note: Consumer Reports does not review TVs smaller than 27".
Oh yeah, Best Buy has free delivery, assuming you are in the US.
The Sony's are rated the highest, but they are also about $150 more expensive.
if you want a good quality picture for the xbox, then I suggest you continue saving till you can get a real nice tv, preferably with component video inputs. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is really true when it comes to quality electronics. to really enjoy the xbox capabilities you want an HD or HD ready tv set.
If my budget was $400 I'd save an extra $75 and get this tv:

Personally, I cant wait till these come down in price...but by then I'll be drooling over the new 40"+ hdtv tubes

I have 2 Xboxs hooked upto 2 different TVs,
In my main room i have a Mitsubushi 65in. Widescreen HDTV,at the time cost me around $3299, let me tell you the games that support both WideScreen and HD are incredible.
My second system is hooked upto a 36in Panasonic HDTV, this cost me $1399 from Best Buy and the picture quality is amazing, even my PS2 games look good on this LOL!
If your on a Budget here in town i can get a SAMSUNG 27in HDTV for $480 out the door. Its is a normal 4:3 ratio if you are interested i can get you the phone number for the store. This TV goes for $700 at best buy.
I dont know why, but games like Final Fantasy 10 and MGS2 look better than Halo on my HDTV.. They are both hooked up with Component cords, I dont get it. I am not very impressed with how halo looks on it, but its still an awesome game..
