i think i got a solution that should work... providing they dont suddenly put up a server--masterserver keygen check. Once ASE/GSPY integrate support for the game, find a server u like, jot down the ip, and insert that ip in game (i think the menu is favorites under multiplayer) and u should be able to play fine.

at the moment there is no server side cdkey check, so the blacklisted Deviance key should work fine.

No. Apparantly you can still access lan but not the others.

For lan games, UT does not need to verify keys with the master server. so no.

Unless you are refering to the server hosting the game on lan? Even so, i dont consider that a MASTER server, just a server

my friend tried logging on without the deviance key (ie a legit copy) and using another one (legit), it looks like they took it down completely instead of just blacklisting the keys.

I tried connecting directly to a server (i found a few ips on the UT2003 server stats page). And I connected to every one of them. Im using the original deviance key from the NFO.

I can't use the in game browser though. So once ASE or Gamespy3d support this game I think we might be able to play with any key (just can't use ingame browser).

i just got done playing online w/ diviences copy.. i got a few servers from the stats page.. pinged, then join from HLSW... So technically.. you avoid the master server

is it just me or is it sort of difficult to manually add an ip under favorites? You can't copy and paste and the numbers will sometimes end up somewhere else in the string rather than the place u wanted it to be. Anyone know if there's like a file somewhere where u can just put the server in?

try using the unreal url thingy
goes like this:
unreal://IPADDRESS

so if the ip was 32.45.123.65 just go to start > run and type in unreal://32.45.123.65 it should launch the game and connect. i do this when i send people ips over irc its easier for everyone to just click on the link
you can set the ASE to do this by using the custom format and use ctrl+x

Oh yeah, I was hosting a game intending to play with bots, but left advertise server on. I guess it showed up in some list for legit users because I had full server pretty quickly. Plenty of people wanting to play to keep if full for a couple hours. Kinda strange...
