Installing UNREAL.TOURNAMENT.2003-DEViANCE on Memorex cdrs

I and a friend both use Memorex cdrs, and we noticed that you can't install UT2k3 if you burnt it on cdrs from that brand. The installation will hang at either one of 2 files, q_topright.gif or t.gif.
Works with daemon tools though, so it shouldn't be an error with the bin.

So beware of Memorex this time

strange, it works on my memorex(ritek) cdrs.. it's the cheap kind not made by taiyo yuden, and it only says "is it live or is it memorex?" on the top.. but just to let you know that it works, btw, i burned it at 12x...

I used daemon tools and no problems there.

I've never used Daemon tools - so I just wonder how that helped making a working copy?

btw, i forgot to mention.. i mounted the bin with daemontools first and then did a straight cd copy in nero.. not sure if that made the difference since i also used memorex..

try burning it with cdrwin or fireburner

that's my method for burning games so hopefully it will work for me too. sweet!

Try upgrading your burner firmware also. That may help with the recognition and stuff.

I just burnt on Riteck 10X HS CDRW and all works flawlessly!

i burnt at 24x with imation and it got fuxed on the gif file too so i just installed from hd

That's how I burn game also, though I use Clonecd to copycd. Never had a problem, especially with straight-from-the-group games. Hopefully, I'll have the same luck with UT2k3.

same here, only i used Fujifilm cdrs... im gonna try maxell. oh yeah, i burned with nero.

I have the same problems!!
Burned them on Platinum cd's >> install fails
Burned them on Sony cd's >> install fails
Burned them on Phillips cd's >> install fails

I used CDRWIN without mounting images and such.
This is very weird, what's up here?

Solution:

Burn with nero with DISC AT ONCE, NOT TRACK AT ONCE. Disc 1 has now installed for me....so that's good so far!
