    Default Digital Video Editing

I have been playing with some digital video editing for awhile, but am not very experienced in it yet. I have a pretty nice Mini-DV camera and would like to learn to make badass skate videos and such. What programs are easy to use, but yet user friendly... I have tried:

*Pinnacle 7- I like, but it crashes a lot
*Premier 6- Heard it was the best, but complicted to use
*Ulead Video Studio 5- I like, but not many features

    Any reccomendations???

Final Cut Pro is the best consumer editing app, but is only on the mac platform. You should stick with Premier, remember, nothing good comes easy! Look around for some tutorials, it wont take that long to learn it. Also there is a project file in premier (bicycles) that shows you everything in the timeline.
I know a guy who had a dv cam and wanted to do some video editing. He went out and got a wimpy notebook, got premier, learned it in about 2 weeks. Now his skate/snowbaord vids are total kickass!

    Keep at it.

Pinnacle Edition DV is supposed to be great.

Got 5 stars in PC Magazine:

Havenīt tried it myself though: hard to find.

Personally I started on Pinnacle Studio dv then Pinnacle Studio 7 and now 8.

    Here's a vid that I've created

    http://www.crestfallen.com/videos/walmartfun.wmv

I call it walmart fun, it's 1 min 55 sec long, 6.78mb totally streamable on broadband.

Now, Pinnacle Edition is comparable to Adobe Premiere, very advanced, multiple audio and video tracks. I've used it, very difficult also. But it's nice ;P

And last of all, I'm trying to find

09/28/2002 Avid Express DV 3.5 With Power Pack ISO [3 CDs]

Impossible to find. And for some reason there are two one releases of that.

    Well, I hope that helps!

    Intro / Advanced = Studio 8
    Advanced / Prof = Edition

    sonic foundry vegas video

we just did a broadcast tv commercial using it entirely, looks damn good with the built in transitions and whatnot, I like it best for your average video arrangement. then yeah, avid dv is the shit for your high end when you have alot of time to play around.

Pinnacle V8.1 is far better than version 7

Avid is great but I couldnt get it to reconize firewire,

I use to use Videowave till Roxio baught MGI ,now the latest version is crap.

    Ulead is great for beginers.

But I will stick with pinnacle 8.1 it works fine and has heaps of plugins on the net.

I've played around with Vegas Video and it was the only one I could get my head around that made sense to me (more or less) from the get-go. Premiere, to me, is a big maze.

Vegas Video is the way to go.. Very stable and incredibly good user interface. If you want to do a lot of 3D stuff then make sure you have After Effects as well.
