Default HELP -> winlogon.exe taking a lot of idle CPU time

Hey, I'm looking for some help.

I'm using Devil's Own copy of Windows XP (w/ a generated key and SP1 installed), 3ds max 5 Fooziso and Norton SystemWorks EPS (only NAV is installed however).

    Now, for the problem:
When I boot up, NAV auto-protect is enabled and everything runs smoothly (System Idle Process CPU time = 99). BUT, when I start 3ds max 5, winlogon.exe seems to get excited and starts to take up an excessive amount of CPU time. The only way to stop it is to disable NAV auto-protect.

Even if I completely close 3ds max and the whole process tree, and enable auto-protect, winlogon.exe starts acting up again.

I've even set auto-protect to ignore winlogon.exe and all the EXE processes that are associated with 3ds max, but the problem still persists. This is becoming really annoying. CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

If required, my specs are as follows: Athlon XP 2000+, A7V333, 512MB DDR333, and I think that's all that's important.

    ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!
    THANKS!

try using the network license that solved the problem for me, i'm using win 2k but had the same problem.
however the license does not give u access to the biped tool. not that i really know what i'm doing with the software

    Thanks... It worked!

Though I'd love to actually fix the problem instead of walk around it. I might want to use the biped tool for cs animation [highly unlikely though].

Anyway, your help is still greatly appreciated!
