The Ring - The Remake
I saw the original japanese a while back and now just saw the US version. Even thought I knew exactly what to expect, I loved it just as much. Anyone out there agree? I know a lot of diehards will call the original a classic and instantly strike down this remake thinking it won't compare at all. For once, Hollywood doesn't fuck it up. It's just as good.
i feel the first sucked, and american should be no different if it's the same.
can you guys PLEASE tell me what exacly happend at the end? I didn't understand what the idea was. he said something about spreading some shit or something. plz explain.

you gotta make copies and give it out to someone and that guy has to watch it and do the same, not explained at all in the movie.

Just see the original. It's a masterpiece.
I don't even know what you mean by "she's not sleeping at all".
If you want to understand all about Ring then you should see also the prequel and secuel for the Ringu.
If you want to watch those without spoiling then the right order will be Ringu 1->Ringu 0->Ringu 2.
Ringu 0 will explain a lot and Ringu 2 will add some to it.
The American Ring doesn't have exatly the same plot so i would rather watch the original ones.
what did they change in the american one? Are you talking about the girl with the hair or what? She was the one with super killing ability in the japanese one.
I think some of you are mistaking with Ring (original) with The Ring Lassen (sp?). If you thought the oringal ring sucked you've probably watched Ring Lassen, which was released right after oringinal ring was released. I watched about every ring movies but the original is still superior to the rest. Ring Lassen sucked big time by the way

i found the remake...laughable,embarrassing and vacuous
anyway, i cannot find the ringu in blockbuster or whatever so could somebody spare me and tell me why is she killing ppl and all?

They don't have it in any american video stores. It's a foreign film so they might have it at foriegn video stores or try the internet.
Not seen yet.

AFAIK, there's Ring 0, Ringu, Ring 2, the Korean remake, and now the American remake.

what if you watch it on a tv in your car....can she get the private cell number? if not then it's not really fair to die in 7 days. What if you watch it in america then go to europe? can she compensate for the difference between the pal and ntsc formats? Or in 7 days what if you're not near a tv? can she come through other nearby electronics maybe the toaster?
