    Default just a idea

    i got this idea
it might be a bit dumb i dunno
i just thought it could be fun

lets take all the game realesed in a week and on monday make a post with a poll called for example "best games week 34" or whatever week it is =)
and then once a month it could be like another poll best game of the month
and then the winners of all the months will be in the poll for best game of the year

i dont know if you have had anything similar here before cause im kinda new.. so dont bash me if it has hehe..

anyway what do you ppl think?

I think that would be kinda cool to have picks for best game of the month, and then year. Good idea.

I'd keep track of it - it wouldnt be that hard.

    Great idea.

if nothing more comes of this, at least consider a "best game of the month" poll each month - with the biggest contenders listed. then from that once a year we could have a best of the best (game of the year).

    Would be good.

    ...sounds like a promising idea

Only thing is, wouldn't it just be easier to go to a review site like Gamespot or IGN?

    Agree, good idea.

Additional burden for Isonews, but a great idea. We are all looking for the best, or at least good, game. Surveying a population which has access to most releases is in itself a good idea, it counters the pure marketing factor and places the gamer where it belongs: with good games to play.

Having said that, I'm not sure we have the proper audience here...

Why not also keeping a track of the best games in the main genres with a poll: sport, RTS, RPG, simulation,... That would keep the best titles on the top.

This sounds like an interesting idea, but seems like we will end up with UT2003 going up against Harry Potter or something for the final poll. For example, Hitman 2 and NOLF 2 were relased the same day. So one would be eliminated in the weekly poll.

But at the same time, there are many weeks (especially in the summer) when the most compelling thing that comes out is "Bear and Penguin's Big Reading Adventure." So at the monthly poll, you will see "America's Army: Operations RECON" vs. "Jay Jay The Jet Plane Sky Heroes To The Rescue."

So some of the polls may end up looking really funny, since great games are often released in the same week.

But I guess, ultimately, the "best" game should make it to the end.

    i think this works better

    1) only the BEST (as you said) will win
    2) it may be funny, but then again, wheres the problem in that? a bit of humour as Disneys Tigger Bounce Adventures wins is just what some of the ISONEWS forum (F)lamers need

As for that idea, you rate the games according to what you like, for example, you could only like sports games and thats it.

I say for this idea you should rate the games of the year in their own specific genre.

Say have the top 3 RPGS, FPS, Sports games, Strategy, etc.

I hate people like you, total idiots. Arguing and flaming just for the sake of it, without any reason at all.

Everyone agrees its a good idea, WTF, did you have to come here and say something that dumb??? Next time keep your opinion to your stupid self!

Sounds like a great idea from where I am! , i'd certainly put in my votes and help out where I can.

Another amusing idea to add to this is a worst game of the month too sometimes knowing whats good isnt nearly as important as knowing whats bad

Well I'm thinking that games that are marked "kiddie" shouldn't be included in the voting, because they are really not fit to be compared to other "real" game releases in the first place...In other words, only games under the Games ISO section, rather than the Kiddie section also.

U right , games should be judge by a few people not just 1 , 1 for sport , 1 for RTS and so on .

Just by reading most of the posts, but you are right, let's get positive and optimistic: this can be a great feature for isonews.

Best game of the week, all-times best games in selected genres and best game of the year would be great.
