i just downloaded the demo but it does not seem to work for me. after selecting the car the game loads and my comp freezes. anyone got the same prob?
my specs:
windows xp (sp1)
amd xp 1900+
512mb ddr ram (266mhz)
radeon 9700 pro

"There is a known issue with the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro chipset where the game will freeze to a black screen when running the game. We are currently investigating a driver fix for this and will likely be adding support in the future."
Radeon 9700 is an amazing card performance wise, but like every recent game has a compatibilty issue. Maybe I'm just making excuses to make my Geforce 4 ti4600 look better
But still, that's gotta be annoying.
Hm, those barrels from choppers r gonna be annoying in the game. I think they should just hold of the game for couple of more days and make that an option that u could either turn on or off. This way it could satisfy every1.

great game, barrels aren't that bad. Could be i always get all the luck but they seem to stop the police cars and competetion more then me
Can't wait for the full version. Anyone have any idea what the multiplayer modes will be and if it will be just "Join IP" or serverbrowser type thingies? (fgs not gamespy plz)

Its in the audio folder under music and its an .asf file
I got a converter to change from mp3 to asf but when it finished I replaced the original track0 with my song it didnt play when I started the demo, must have been some properties settings. The thing is I couldnt find out the original properties of the actual demo track0, I could change the band name, track name and cd name which was cool! Has someone tried to do this with success?

I don't like 3 things in the demo, otherwise it's good.
1. The barrels should be removed (the lag the game allot aswell)
2. Better replay support, camera views, choose car to follow etc.
3. Who wants those damn jumpcamps etc when your driving, screws up your heading etc (i know you can turn them of i did that after the first jump).

my quick review: Grafix are killer, I don't think a Xbox can touch them. Controls are great also and so is too. The gameplay I can't judge without playing the final version though. But two words: GET IT!
also 1280 x 1024 32bit all high detail and no lag on my specs (1600+, geforce 3 ti500). Great job of coding imho.

the barrels arent to bad, this is an arcade racer, theres nothing realistic about it
what happened to the nfs: pu physics? they have gone back to the NFS3 and HP1 type sliding? oh well.

And for all you ppl bitching about the copter and the barrels not being realistic, this isn't a fucking sim, it's an arcade game.

Now that we established that the game is a arcade I really don't see anything special about it. The only thing that I really really liked is the sound. Everything else looks like the original hot pursuit except this one is missing the inside dash board. Oh, and controls are horrible and need a lot of time to get used to.
Barrels rock - it's fun to nudge another car into one...
The only thing I don't like about the game is you're forced to stay on the track [or one of the side tracks].
