The action view ends the very same instant you touch ground again... And you cannot steer in the air, can you? Exactly.

Personally I think it's a real cool addition to the game, as well as the barrels from the choppers. All I miss is to be able to have to automacially switch to 3rd person view after I hit one of those barrels or crash so I have an easier time to navigate to get on course again, because using the R command is just lame.

I guess I was expecting a NFS5 follow up of some sort, which I didn't really get. Overall the graphics are alright, the car models are the nice, the rest is pretty bad. I remember the environment being much nicer in NFS5, but I guess this is what you get with a game thats made for every damn console out there, 3 mediocre games and a personal disappointment.

EDIT: On the side note, I understand this is only a demo and that was my first impression of the demo. Still hoping there might be something more in the full thing.

yes, spike strips, damage, road blocks and other such things are in the full version

spike strips are pretty nasty, cant respawn after it, instant end of race

the levels look really cool, like need for speed 2 levels with lava and the like.

pitty that its no nfs5

btw this game runs like shit on the xbox

Just played it, I love this game so far.

Runs great on my pc with all settings maxed (which i definately didnt expect), controls are great on my Firestorm dual power (anolog sticks), cars look great (very beautiful). Some things they need in the final tho are Options for everything (to please everyone), full replays, online support, and for christ sakes give the cops roadblocks and spikestrips back and make them a little more aggresive. Its way too easy to get away from them right now. That is all.

actually, I tried the demo again. It's not as bad as my first impression, but it is sort of a letdown. Graphically, the cars are decent, but the environments looks pretty bad. Especially when you see these sailing boats in the marina floating in midair on what's supposed to be water...

yeah. i noticed that too. they didn't use pixel shaders for the water either, i don't think..

Typical arcade shit...
But I'm happy. This will be the first NFS game I have ever played. I played a demo of some nfs like 4 years ago.

What do you mean there isnt any damage? I see damage. It takes alot to get damage but it's there for sure. I just dont understand why I get 60fps yet the game is still choppy. Irritating.

IIRC it depends on the detail level whether you see the damage or not; that's probably the reason why some people complain about it. It's all in the readme file...

Updating this post quite a bit.. hmm.. started at 2:07:33. This time I fucked up the first round so I had to overtake quite a few cars. Anyone else noticed how the cops definately favor to hunt YOU down and not the opponent which is 2 metres ahead?

I'm using the Ferrari of course..

Nice going!

Just got BSOD'ed when trying to alt-tab out of game with a 2:03:06 screenie inside. Think I'll have to install Hypersnap to avoid that stuff again.. Still wasn't absolutely perfect. The lap which felt the most perfect to this time was unfortunately a first lap.. clocked in at 2:12:96

Well.. didn't get down to 2:03:06 again but 2:03:23 is rather good, too.

I don't like it. I hate the controls of the car - is this ment to be a simulation? because it feels like it.

I play the game with a keyboard. Don't see why people are complaining. I also have a Logitech Formula Force GP wheel and IMHO it was impossible to control the car using that. There was noe resistance at all in the wheel and only turning slightly resulted in a spin. Hopefully this is a demo issue and not a problem in the final.
