XBOX BUNDLE

Today Microsoft finally confirmed the rumor we've been hearing for awhile now in a press release: they're releasing a bundle that includes two Sega games tomorrow.
For $199, which is the price of an Xbox alone, you'll get a package containing a system, Jet Set Radio Future and Sega GT 2002, as well as a Controller S (the small, Japanese-style pad) instead of the bulky original controller. According to the PR, the Controller S "...will be the new standard controller for all Xbox systems sold moving forward. " Well, that's good news. The press release also notes that "Current Xbox owners can purchase both games from major retailers." That seems a little unfeeling, considering that it'll cost another $100 or so! Ah, the curse of the early adopter.

Nintendo has a similar bundle package coming out tomorrow as well -- for $189.99 ($40 more than the system alone) you can get an Indigo GameCube with Super Mario Sunshine and a Memory Card 59. Whose gambit will pay off?

$200.00 for two games and great system, I can't wait till tomorrow.

Does anyone know if the bundled system will be the new version XboX or will it be v.1? Also, will the $30 rebate for the DVD kit still apply?

I beleive it would be the new version. DVD rebate is no longer to be apply since it is different bundle

yeah I'd guess it would be the new version also...
and I actually like the original controller more.. oh well, as long as they continue to sell the old ones...

um actually the dvd rebate still does apply.. as the rebate states rebate is valid on console+dvd remote purchases until nov30th
with the mail in deadline on dec31st

i when to a couple of shop today to buy it but is seem none of the shop i visited have it yet. they said it was suppost to be there today but they never got the shipping. anyone have any luck finding the bundle and at what store?

Just bought one from gamestop today. I can confirm that the DVD rebate cannot be used since this is a different bundle. I beleive it is ver2 and it manufactured at 10/03/02
