    Default mouse going nuts...

ok, i'm not sure if this is an app doing this or a virus. either way, every once in a while (like once a half hour) while i'm using my pc the mouse goes crazy for like 10-20 seconds. it right and left clicks on the screen like a million times and any movement on my part makes the mouse just move around the screen at random really fast. then it just stops. anyone know what's going on?

oh, and i usually use all these while it's happening:
    winxp pro
    trillian pro
    winamp 2 w/shoutcast and audiostocker
    ie

Why don't you just ask him what he's wearing too?

Don't bother to interupt Matlock's afternoon nap, this case is closed.

i have an optical mouse that every now and then it starts like moving a little bit without me moving it.

not sure if there's a pattern of what's open when it happens though, but i do use winamp a lot... winamp is a backdoor!

no, this seems to be some kind of virus or something. it's really beginning to annoy me. the worst is when it goes nuts and clicks the little shutdown link i have on my desktop. i've virus scanned but not with a recent update. i updated and have to restart for it to take effect but i can't be fucked to restart yet. i was just wondering if anyone had ever experienced the same. fyi, it's not optical and unplugging it while it's happening doesn't cause it to stop. windows says my drivers are fine.

Hmm, try a different mouse? My MS optical mouse used to do a similar thing right before it died.
