    Default Tv-out is black/white only

Connected a Gfmx420 (yeah yeah..) to a Tv (3 yr old Sony) with a S-video cable, but picture is only black/white. Tried some differnt settings on comp like Pal-B, which is supposed to be the correct one, but they're all black and white. Could this have something to do with the TV? Or maybe try a composite cable instead, as the graphic card has option for both S-video and composite (I think it's called composite, the yellow plug)

    Hi mate!
ok, maybe you should check out on your tv if you dont have any other composite yellow cable pluged in. I had that problem once when I tryed to plug in my s-video cable from my satellite receiver to my tv. I had a yellow composite video that I forgot to unplug before and I had black and white also.

So maybe thats your problem. Anyways check out your s-video cable pins to see if theres none bended or broken, cause that may be it also.

    Good luck!!

you can also try the program called tvtool, it's great for tv-out purposes, makes it able to record to a VHS recorder.

Probably just had a bad connection or bad cable. S-Video seperates the color from the brightness on the same cable (4 leads) where as the composite carries all the information on just 2 leads. More than likely the connection wasn't being made somewhere along the way for the color portion of the signal.
