well this shit is going on im backyard basically i live within 5 miles of all the shootings in Mont. county... Our police cheif was crying yesterday cause a child got shot, I feel sorry for the dude cause you can tell he hasn't slept in 5 days, a friend and I yesterday went to Best Buy it was empty when it usally is packed. Half the people arent at school, I just hope they catch the fucker soon cause they canceleing all of football games in our county. If i was the cheif i would just put outdoor restrictions, curfews, bring in the nat'l gaurd, swat team galore and then the fun would begin.

You are NEVER going to get the guns out of the hands of criminals, even in countries where guns are completely illegal criminals have guns. There's a war going on out there, criminals against non-criminals, when you go to war you don't begin by throwing away your firearms, instead you try to "out power" your enemy.

Why do cops carry guns? Wouldn't it be better if they got rid of them, then there would be fewer guns in the country. If you or someone else is being attacked you call 911 and hope the cops get there before someone is hurt or killed, but we don't have one cop for every citizen so they don't always make it there on time. We must take upon our shoulders the responsibility of defending ourselves.

Guns are not illegal in most states and guns are not illegal in NYC. Pistols require permits in many states, but thats not the same.

Just a quick amendment to Bubbens first post. There are alot more than 10 gun related deaths per year. On average i would say about 6 per month and thats just in the Met and not the whole country. It is on the increase and most of the time its criminal against criminal.
